Dixie Lee Landers, 81 of Clovis, California passed away on July 11th, 2017 in Fresno, California.
Dixie was born on May 7, 1936 in Clear Lake, Iowa to Francis Wayne and Marjorie Loretta (Floy) Pettey.
Dixie moved to California as a young girl. She met her husband, of 62 years, Cody Lee Landers while in high school. They married on September 18, 1954.
In 1961, they moved to San Luis Obispo, California where they raised their family and she ran her own daycare business. She was involved in the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and a Japanese exchange student camp program. She was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over 20 years, raising money for cystic fibrosis. She held several Executive Board positions and was the recipient of many awards and honors, including Valentine Queen. They moved to Clovis, California in 1977 where she continued her involvement with Beta Sigma Phi.
Dixie enjoyed her many travels to Hawaii the 12 years her husband worked there prior to his retirement. She collected dolls, was very creative and had many hobbies including; sewing, painting, cake decorating, and arts & crafts. Taking care of her family was always her priority.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Sharon Nelson (twin) and Joanne Lempinen. She is survived by her son, Steven Landers (Tracy), daughters; Debora Landers and Patricia Frazier (Dennis); 6 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
